Our mission
Our mission is to exercise independent and effective oversight of the management of public funds in accordance with the principles of legality, efficiency and transparency. In particular, the Court:
- adjudicates the accounts of public accountants in cases concerning de facto management and sanctions management errors;
- audits the management of the State, local authorities, public institutions, enterprises and bodies of all kinds, concession holders and institutions responsible for carrying out public projects or managing public services;
- declares whether the State’s general accounts are in conformity and gives an opinion on annual financial statements;
- contributes to the evaluation of public policies and programmes;
- assists the executive and legislative authorities in monitoring the implementation of finance laws and the closing of the budget;
- audits the financing of political parties, associations and cooperatives.
The Court of Audit’s various bodies exercise these powers throughout the territory of the Tunisian Republic, ensuring comprehensive and effective coverage of all entities under its oversight at central and regional levels.
The Court issues judgments and prepares audit reports on the accounts and management of the entities it oversees, as well as special reports, and follows up the results of its audit work.
