In this connection, reference should be made to Organic Law No. 41 of 2019 of 30 April 2019 concerning the Court of Accounts. Article 6 provides that the Court of Accounts prepares a general annual report recording the results of its work and sends it to the President of the Republic, the President of the Assembly of the Representatives of the People, the Head of Government and the President of the Supreme Judicial Council.

Article 15 of the same law provides that, in respect of bodies subject to its jurisdiction, oversight or assessment, the Court of Accounts is responsible for detecting irregularities, authorising the necessary corrections, evaluating management methods and making recommendations to that end.

Where, in carrying out its duties, the Court identifies misconduct that may constitute a criminal offence, the Public Prosecution Office is responsible for referring the matter to the competent prosecutor’s office with a view to bringing proceedings against those responsible before the relevant courts.
